Rob Mitchell

Safety

A retired RCAF Colonel, Rob is currently a film pilot and aerial coordinator with Wolf Air. He got his start in aviation at a young age when his grandfather told tales of Spitfires in WWII in Europe and he watched his dad fly jets in the 70’s and 80’s. His experiences include 20 years as an RCAF CF-18 fighter pilot, air show pilot for the Canadian Snowbirds, including a two year stint as their Team Lead, a demo pilot for the Patriots Jet Team flying the number 5 jet for both solo and outer left wing flying, as well as pilot for WestJet.  In addition, Rob is on the ACE Committee of ICAS, and a regular keynote speaker for Canadian Conference Speakers, and he’s the President, Producer and Director for Speedbird Productions, producers of the 2015 documentary Airshow airing on the Discovery Channel (Canada).  With his extensive experience both in and out of the pilot seat, Rob brings to NWOC a wealth of knowledge and skills about pilot safety and will be sharing those with us in Tucson. Rob lives with his wife and daughters in Vancouver.
