20 Under 40 Class of 2025: Jerod Flohr
Jerod is a full time professional pilot and a career instructor with over 14,000 hours in many makes and models. Over half of his flight time is “dual given” instruction in aerobatic, warbird, and tailwheel aircraft. His warbird experience mainly consists of the T-28, T-6’s, BT13’s, PT19’s, as well as years of flying aerobatics teaching in aircraft like the Decathlon, Pitts, and Extra. Jerod has many hours as a check airman in aircraft such as Embraer 135’s and Gulfstream 550’s, as well as being an instructor and Mentor Pilot in the Piper Meridian, TBM900, PC-6/PC-12, Phenom 300, and Citation Mustang. He is also typed in a few jet warbirds such as the L39, MiG15, MiG17, S-211, and of course, the A4 Skyhawk to name a few. He flew his first air show in the Extra 300L at the age of 25 and currently flies the TA4 Skyhawk on the air show circuit. Jerod is passionate about aviation, and his impressive range of experience gives him great depth of knowledge in helping pilots of all backgrounds fly safely and professionally. In addition to spending most of his time off down in Houston volunteering for the Vietnam War Flight Museum and Collings Foundation, he also recently started his own nonprofit (Aviator Journey Foundation) aimed at providing opportunities to more pilots to develop skills above and beyond the basic aviation training acquired by most pilots
